Hospice Maui is a Medicare-Certified provider of hospice service and has earned the trust of families and physicians on Maui for 33 years. Hospice Maui is the expert in patient comfort and symptom control, pain management, and in compassionate, loving care. They care for both the patient and for the family, both during the illness and after the death. They provide nurses, physicians, social workers, spiritual counselors, volunteers, as well as free medicines, supplies and equipment.
The H.E.A.L. (Helping Ease a Loss) grief support group provides an opportunity to share experiences and feelings regarding the death of your loved one and to listen to and learn from others. We all grieve differently. The H.E.A.L. grief support group meets weekly at Hospice Maui in Wailuku and is free of charge. Participants do not have to have been part of Hospice, but do need to have experienced the death of a loved one in the last 3 years. Participants share about the death of their loved one, how their grief is progressing, what has worked to help them, what challenges they are facing etc. We all grieve differently. Many people do not feel the need of a support group until long after the death of a loved one. Come whenever you are ready, whether it is soon after your loved one’s death, or much later.
Hospice sometimes has spare commodes, walkers, shower benches, canes and crutches. Call for information.
