Foster grandparent Volunteer training

What Is A Foster Grandparent Volunteer?

Foster Grandparent Volunteers work with children who need a little extra help

with school work. Most Foster Grandparents are placed in schools, afterschool

programs, or preschools. The program is sponsored by the Department of

Human Services and University of Hawaii Cooperative Extension (Maui).

What Are The Benefits?

Tax free stipend (income eligible volunteers)

One nutritious meal per work day

Transportation allowance

Vacation and sick leaves

Paid state holidays

Annual recognition event

Helping keiki!

What Are The Qualifications?

55 years or older

Meet income eligibility requirements

Physically and mentally healthy

Willing to accept supervision

Able to work 15 hours per week
